This is an immersive, educational, instructor led course, where beginner level coders receive hands on, project based training in the new advancements in iOS development, using a project-based learning environment. Students will work with Apple's new iOS programming language, Swift and Objective-C to learn how to program, but the lessons learned will also apply to any new or coexisting iOS project and other associated technologies.
Students will learn about the newest iOS development and user experience (UX) principles such as: Version Control, Dependency Management, AutoLayout, CoreData, Automated Testing, Configuration Management, Beta Distribution, Enterprise and B2B Distribution from expert iOS instructor, lead developer, A. Brooks Hollar, to create working apps for all iOS technologies such as: iPhone, iPad, Mac, and its new Watch platform. This accelerated program will focus on the development of iOS applications through intensive training in programming, interface design and user experience (UX), plus some business and professional development strategies.

A. Brooks Hollar | Senior iOS Instructor
A. Brooks Hollar lives in Longmont, CO with his wife and two daughters, but grew up in the mountains of Virginia. He holds degrees in computer science from James Madison University and Virginia Commonwealth University. Brooks has a background in teaching as Adjunct Faculty at JMU and as a Graduate Assistant at VCU, along with 25+ years of programming experience.
Brooks has been a senior developer for 10+ years on a variety of languages, platforms and capacities. He's most passionate about iOS development, and teaching, which is why he also co-hosts the Boulder iOS Meetup which meets monthly. Professionally, Brooks worked for Rosetta Stone for 8.5 years; starting when they had less than 50 employees. He's been an Engineering Director for a Boulder startup, and currently serves as Director of Mobile Engineering for AdAdapted.com and does freelance iOS work. Brooks prides himself on building well functioning teams and has run teams of up to 20 developers at a time.
